Yudistan Pillay Missing Found Dead Van Dyk Park, SA Death and Obituary – Family Mourns After Missing Man Found Deceased

The Van Dyk Park community is mourning the reported death of Yudistan Pillay, 25, whose body was recovered during an investigation into the disappearance of two young people.

Pillay was reported missing alongside Jessica Rabe, 20, at Dawn Park SAPS on July 27. According to Wendy Pascoe of Pascoe Investigations and Missing in Southern Africa, the pair had not been seen or heard from after reportedly moving between Van Dyk Park and Farrar Park.

Their disappearance led to an ongoing community search, with missing-person information shared through local community networks, WhatsApp groups and organizations assisting the families.

Information received on August 28 was provided to SAPS, prompting authorities to launch a search and recovery operation at a property on Wildevy Street.

SAPS Search and Rescue personnel and members of the Forensic Pathology Unit were involved in the operation. Shortly after 6 p.m. on August 30, Pillay’s body was recovered after being found partially buried beneath the house.

His next of kin subsequently positively identified him.

Authorities have not yet established Pillay’s cause of death. Details surrounding the circumstances leading to his death remain part of the investigation.

Three suspects have been arrested, with further arrests reportedly expected as investigators continue examining the case.

The recovery of Pillay’s body has brought deep sadness to those who had been hoping for his safe return. Family members, friends and community members are now left mourning his death while awaiting answers from the investigation.

Wendy Pascoe described the loss of the two young people as tragic and expressed hope that justice would prevail.
