Robert Harper Foley Alabama Death;Obituary – University of Alabama Student Has Sadly Died

The University of Alabama community is mourning the death of Robert “Harper” Foley, a 19-year-old student from Dallas, Texas, who died on August 23, 2026, following a brief illness.

Harper’s death has left his family, friends, classmates, soccer teammates and Kappa Sigma fraternity brothers grieving the loss of a young man remembered for his warmth, adaptability and strong connections with the people around him.

Remembering Harper Foley

Born May 18, 2007, in Kansas City, Kansas, Harper grew up in a military family and spent his childhood living in several communities and military installations across the United States.

Despite frequently changing schools and surroundings, he developed a remarkable ability to form friendships and embrace each new chapter of his life.

Soccer was a constant presence. Harper began playing at age three and continued through high school and college, forming lasting relationships with teammates and coaches along the way.

He graduated from Lansing High School in Kansas in 2025 before beginning his college education at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa.

A Life Shaped by Family and Community

Harper maintained a particularly close connection to his maternal grandparents’ home in Brent, Alabama. Family memories there included fishing, swimming, riding in his grandfather’s Kubota and enjoying time outdoors with cousins.

Those experiences helped strengthen his connection to Alabama and the University of Alabama.

At college, Harper became a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity, where he developed friendships and a strong sense of brotherhood.

Funeral Services

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, August 29, 2026, in Brent, Alabama.

Visitation will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. at Brent Baptist Church, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Brent City Cemetery.

Family members, fraternity brothers, former teammates and friends are expected to gather to honor Harper’s life.

Family Mourns His Loss

Harper is survived by his parents, brothers Franklin Price Foley and Alexander Gates Foley, grandparents, aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.

Although his life was brief, Harper touched people across many communities. His family and friends will remember the friendships he formed, his love of soccer and the outdoors, and the warmth he brought into the lives of those around him.

His memory will continue through the many people who knew and loved him.
