The Delmar, Delaware community is mourning the death of Norma Eckard, who was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Laurel on August 27, 2026.

According to the information provided, the fatal collision occurred at the intersection of Salt Barn Road and Old Stage Road. Norma was driving a Nissan Frontier when the vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign and entered the intersection.

The Nissan was subsequently struck by a Kia Sportage traveling southbound on Old Stage Road.
