The family of Daniel Pope is mourning his tragic passing after a paragliding accident in Austin, Texas, that claimed his life early Tuesday morning. His death has left his family and loved ones facing an unimaginable loss.

According to a heartfelt message shared by his sibling, Daniel suffered multiple serious injuries in the accident and fought to survive, described by his family as a “true blooded warrior.” Despite his efforts, his injuries were ultimately too severe to overcome.

Daniel was remembered by his family as a phenomenal father, a devoted son, a beloved brother and one of his sibling’s best friends. His death has left his parents, siblings and two sons grieving a loss they say will be difficult to reconcile with in the weeks and months ahead.

His sibling shared that they were able to be with Daniel during his final hours, describing the opportunity as something they would remain forever thankful for.

The family has asked friends, relatives and members of the community to keep Daniel’s parents, siblings and especially his two sons in their prayers. They are also mindful that grief will continue to return in waves as the family learns to live with his absence.

Celebration of Life

A Celebration of Life for Daniel Pope is scheduled for Saturday, September 5, at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Madisonville. According to his family, everyone who knew Daniel, knew the family or simply wishes to show support is welcome to attend and honor his life and legacy.

The family is continuing to work through final arrangements and plans to provide additional updates as details are finalized.

In a deeply personal farewell, Daniel’s sibling wrote of the plans, dreams and journeys they had imagined sharing together, expressing regret that they could not have had more time.

“Daniel, my brother, I love you,” the tribute read, expressing a final promise that everything would be taken care of and that Daniel would never be forgotten.
