Josh P. Keats Obituary, Orchard Park, NY Death – Family Mourns Retired Senior Investigator

The law enforcement community is mourning the untimely passing of retired Senior Investigator Josh P. Keats, who died at the age of 55 on August 29, 2026.

Major Amie P. Feroleto, Troop A Commander, announced Keats’ passing, remembering a longtime member of the Division whose career spanned more than three decades.

Keats entered Division service on November 28, 1994, beginning a career dedicated to public service. He retired on August 29, 2025, after completing 31 years of service.

His final assignment was with Troop A, SP Boston, where he served as a Senior Investigator before his retirement.

Throughout his years in service, Keats was part of a law enforcement community committed to protecting and serving the public. His retirement in 2025 marked the conclusion of a lengthy career, but his connection to the Division and the people he worked alongside remained part of his legacy.

Keats is survived by his daughter, Mara, and son, Brody, who are now facing the loss of their father. His family, friends, former colleagues and fellow members of the law enforcement community are mourning his sudden passing.

The circumstances surrounding Keats’ death have not been provided in the announcement, and no cause of death has been publicly disclosed.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Further details regarding the service are expected to be shared with family, friends and those who worked alongside Keats.
