Lauren McLaughlin Obituary, Atlanta, GA Death – Sandy Springs Community Mourns Beloved 23-Year-Old

The Sandy Springs, Georgia, community is mourning the loss of Lauren Grace McLaughlin, who died on August 16, 2026, at the age of 23. Her passing has left family, friends and others who knew her grieving a young woman remembered for her warmth, humor, confidence and vibrant personality.

Born in Atlanta on November 7, 2002, Lauren attended St. Jude the Apostle Catholic School and Blessed Trinity Catholic High School before earning a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Georgia Southern University in 2025.

Those closest to Lauren remembered her as bright, joyful, funny and spirited. She had a natural ability to make people around her feel supported and confident. Her family and friends described someone who believed in others and remained firmly in their corner when they needed encouragement.

Lauren is survived by her parents, Mark and Debbie McLaughlin, and her siblings, Michael, Patrick “PJ,” and Erin, along with extended family members, friends and many others who loved her.

Funeral Services

A visitation celebrating Lauren’s life was held on August 23 at Sandy Springs Chapel. A funeral Mass followed on August 24 at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church in Atlanta, with interment at Arlington Memorial Park.

Lauren’s life lasted only 23 years, but the impact she made on those around her was significant. Family and friends will continue to carry memories of her laughter, kindness, loyalty and the confidence she inspired in others.

Her sudden passing has left a profound void for those who knew and loved her. As they grieve, they are also holding onto the moments that reflected Lauren’s personality and the relationships that made her life meaningful.
