Rhett Carter Accident Sharp County, AK Death and Obituary – North Arkansas Electric Cooperative Mourns 24-Year-Old Employee

The North Arkansas Electric Cooperative community is mourning the loss of Rhett Carter, a 24-year-old employee from Glencoe who died on August 25 following serious injuries sustained in a workplace accident earlier this month.

Carter was injured on August 6 while working in the Ozark Acres area of Sharp County. He was transported by air to a hospital in Little Rock, where he remained under medical care before his death.

News of Carter’s passing has left his family, friends, coworkers, and the wider north Arkansas community grieving the loss of a young man remembered for his dedication, kindness, and willingness to serve others.

A Career With North Arkansas Electric Cooperative

Carter began working with North Arkansas Electric Cooperative in December 2022 as an intern at the Ash Flat district office warehouse. He later joined the cooperative full-time in July 2024 as a warehouse assistant and weekend dispatcher.

In May 2025, he was promoted to the right-of-way division in the Ash Flat district. Through his work in warehouse operations, dispatch, and right-of-way services, Carter became an important member of the cooperative’s Operations department.

NAEC said his work helping keep power lines clear and his willingness to respond to outages at all hours contributed to maintaining safe and reliable electrical service for members.

His colleagues also remembered him as someone whose strong work ethic and giving personality extended beyond his professional responsibilities.

Family and Community Mourn

Carter’s death has deeply affected the North Arkansas Electric Cooperative family. The organization extended its prayers and support to his wife, Kiley; his parents, Ross and Misti; his siblings, Tressie and Cooper; and his extended family.

NAEC offices in Ash Flat, Salem, and Mountain Home were scheduled to close to allow employees to attend Carter’s funeral services and honor their colleague.

His family has requested that those wishing to remember Carter consider making donations to Humphries Cemetery in Glencoe or Public Timber Project Bible Donations.

At just 24, Carter leaves behind a grieving family and a workplace community that had come to know and appreciate him.

As friends, relatives, and coworkers gather to remember his life, Rhett Carter will be remembered for his service, work ethic, compassion, and the meaningful relationships he formed during his years with North Arkansas Electric Cooperative.
