Anthony Chapman Missing, Newcastle, AU – Police Appeal for Public Assistance

Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate Anthony Chapman, 60, who has been reported missing in the Newcastle area.

Anthony was last seen on Jerrawa Close in Lambton at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 23, 2026. After family members were unable to locate or contact him, officers attached to the Newcastle City Police District were notified and began inquiries into his whereabouts.

Police and Anthony’s family have expressed concerns for his welfare, describing his disappearance as out of character.

Anthony is described as being of Caucasian appearance, around 180 centimetres tall, with a solid build and bald. Police say he is known to frequent the Jesmond and Lambton areas.

As the investigation continues, police will also conduct a search of bushland in the Lambton area as part of efforts to locate Anthony and establish what may have happened since he was last seen.

Authorities have also issued a geo-targeting alert to Anthony and surrounding areas. Members of the public who receive a message from +61 444 444 444 in relation to the search are advised that the message is legitimate and is not a scam.

Police are urging anyone who may have seen Anthony, spoken with him or otherwise has information about his movements to come forward. Even information that may seem insignificant could assist investigators in locating him.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Waratah Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Information can also be submitted confidentially through NSW Crime Stoppers. Police have reminded the public not to provide information through NSW Police social media pages.

The search for Anthony remains ongoing, with officers continuing inquiries and working to establish his whereabouts.
